DeskTop Applications

Our experience in this area dates back to 1986 and this knowledge has been the bedrock of all our systems, we have developed countless single user or multi-user desktop applications over all those years, but we are finding companies looking more to e-Commerce sites. There are still reasons to develop desktop applications as the windows platform offers a rich interface, integrated security and a great deal more functionality than easily achieved on the web. However ecommerce sites offer the possibility of accessing the application from anywhere in the world for both your staff and your clients. We have worked on applications which started as traditional Client-Server applications (central database and several terminals) and which are then extended to support web site. To be able to do this is not hard, but you do need to know the limitations of each type of application and design the database with those limitations in mind.

We have upgraded Legacy Systems (created in dBase, Clipper or Paradox) to Client-Server applications which are far more robust than those simple unsafe file based systems. We have also upgraded many MS Access database to SQL databases because the sheer size of the Access database is causing problems in the application.
